A character/bit part actress whose career began in 1943 with an appearance as a secretary in the film They Came To Blow Up American Ruth mainly appeared in uncredited parts in film throughout the decade of the 1940's and the early 1950's, making appearances in such films as Jane Eyre (1944), The Clock (1945), The Harvey Girls (1946), Little Mister Jim (1947), The Strange Mrs. Crane (1948), The Unfinished Dance (1947), Walk Softly, Stranger (1950), The Milkman (1950), and the Oscar-winning film A Star Is Born (1954).
Ruth would go on to make numerous appearances on several popular TV shows in the 1950's which included her appearance on I Love Lucy, The Burns and Allen Show, the Bob Cummings Show and Father Knows Best before making her last Hollywood appearance on The Barbara Stanwyck show in 1961. Ruth passed away in 1997.
